Netflix dropped all four episodes of Lord of the Flies on May 4. Jack Thorne, who co-wrote Adolescence, adapted William Golding’s 1954 novel for the screen. Marc Munden directs. Hans Zimmer scored the series.
Thorne’s version reportedly leans into the book’s political allegory more explicitly than previous adaptations, drawing connections between the island’s collapse into tribalism and contemporary political fractures. It’s a four-hour limited series — compact enough to watch in a single evening if you’re inclined.
