Subnautica 2 Early Access is out — co-op this time, up to four players

Subnautica 2 hit Steam Early Access on May 14 at $29.99. Unknown Worlds also made it available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. The original game became one of the most beloved survival titles of the last decade, and the sequel’s most significant addition is co-op: up to four players can now explore the alien ocean together.

The game is in Early Access, meaning the full storyline is not complete. Unknown Worlds estimates full release in 2027 or 2028. Base-building, creature systems, and the core exploration loop are all playable from launch.
